On 11 February we visited the new Harbour building in the port of Antwerp, designed by architect Zaha Hadid. There was an event called ‘Geo—day’, with the presentation of a new atlas and a keynote speech by Jill Peeters, weather woman and climate expert.

Making comics with Comic Life – Howest students 1st year Bachelor Geography


On Tuesday 14 March, the Geography students in the teacher training department of Howest made comics about natural disasters with the app Comic Life. This app is great for storytelling and comics can really motivate children and let them be creative.  

Visit to the Planetarium in Beisbroek Forest – Jabbeke, Flanders, Belgium with Howest students


During our outdoor activity week in December last year, we visited the Planetarium and Nature Education Centre in the Forest of Beisbroek. We measured the distances of the planets to our sun, investigated weather elements and had a gaze through the telescope!
